TeenScreen

The National Association of Community Health Centers is partnering with the TeenScreen National Center for Mental Health Checkups at Columbia University to encourage routine mental health screening for adolescent patients in federally qualified health centers. Mental health screening is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. The TeenScreen National Center is a pioneering force in the early identification of mental illness in teens and its programs have been recognized as a national model and are listed in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices and the Best Practices Registry for Suicide Prevention.
