Community Health and Social Services Center, known as CHASS, began as a community response to a health care desert in southwest Detroit in the late 1960s.  Now it is a thriving community hub in a tight-knit  Mexican and Latin American community, providing excellent care from culturally-competent providers and jobs.  Read Direct Relief’s account of how it all began by visiting this link.
