NACHC Press Poli­cies and Guide­lines

NACHC wel­comes media cov­er­age by mem­bers of the press to all of its con­fer­ences.  We do require that press reg­is­ter in advance at least two days before the con­fer­ence begins.  NACHC pro­vides com­pli­men­tary reg­is­tra­tion to accred­ited pro­fes­sional jour­nal­ists rep­re­sent­ing media orga­ni­za­tions for the express pur­pose of gath­er­ing news and infor­ma­tion to pro­duce media cov­er­age of the meet­ing.  We do not pro­vide com­pli­men­tary reg­is­tra­tion to pub­lic rela­tions pro­fes­sion­als, or mar­ket­ing or health care pro­fes­sion­als rep­re­sent­ing them­selves as press.  If you have any ques­tions regard­ing poli­cies, press room oper­a­tions, or avail­able resources, please con­tact the NACHC Com­mu­ni­ca­tions staff at (301)347‑0400.  We look for­ward to work­ing with you.

Reg­is­tra­tion Require­ments

To reg­is­ter as press for a NACHC con­fer­ence, jour­nal­ists must present media iden­ti­fi­ca­tion or a busi­ness card issued by a rec­og­nized news orga­ni­za­tion or pub­li­ca­tion.  Jour­nal­ists report­ing for online media out­lets (includ­ing blogs) who wish to reg­is­ter as press must work for news-mak­ing orga­ni­za­tions or pri­vate blogs that meet the fol­low­ing cri­te­ria:

  • The web­site must pro­vide orig­i­nal, edi­to­r­ial news cov­er­age;
  • Edi­to­r­ial con­tent must be inde­pen­dent of adver­tis­ing and spon­sor­ship; and
  • Online press cre­den­tials are sub­ject to review by NACHC.

Con­fer­ence Edu­ca­tion Ses­sions

NACHC edu­ca­tion ses­sions for atten­dees are open to the press on a back­ground basis only.  No audio or video record­ings dur­ing these ses­sions are allowed. Still pho­tog­ra­phy may be per­mis­si­ble with the prior con­sent of pre­sen­ters or atten­dees and in a man­ner that isn’t dis­rup­tive. Requests for on-the-record inter­views with pre­sen­ters, speak­ers, or atten­dees must be coor­di­nated with NACHC Com­mu­ni­ca­tions staff in advance.
