West Cecil Health Center
Cecil Co., Md.West Cecil Health Center provides access to comprehensive primary and preventive health care to residents of the Conowingo area. The health center began as a grassroots movement by members of the community Conowingo Lions Club because many residents had to travel great distances to access affordable care. The health center's efforts to expand care were boosted by a grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which allowed them to expand services to include more evening hours. Among the services the health center offers are: routine physicals and check-ups for familiies, immunizations, behavioral health, newborn and well child check ups, diabetes and high blood pressure management, gynecology and thyroid illness diagnoses.
