Event Details

An event to help Community Health Centers respond to patients facing eviction and in need of assistance.

Building upon our Eviction Crisis Town Hall in June of 2021, we are extending the town hall discussion to help health centers and civil legal services staff better understand how health centers can be a point of entry for their communities to access help and resources to avoid evictions and homelessness.

The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership and National Association of Community Health Centers are co-hosting this national virtual town hall event to help health centers and civil legal services organizations address the eviction crisis. We are joined by subject matter experts from our partners in health justice at the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations, and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association. Subject matter experts and leaders from each organization will share information, resources, and action steps to help patients and communities address the health-harming issues of evictions and unstable housing. The town hall will include a dedicated portion of time for audience engagement and Q&A.

Purpose / Learning Objectives:

    • provide an overview of the role of health centers in addressing housing as health care;
    • share updates and resources on addressing the housing instability and eviction crisis;
    • highlight the interventions: screenings, civil legal services, medical-legal partnerships, and policy strategies
