Chief Information Officer

Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to join our executive leadership team as the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

  1. The CIO will lead ESRHโ€™s commitment to support and promote the strategic use of information technology that advances the overall mission of ESRH.
  2. Reporting to the CEO, the CIO will lead and manage the Information Technology Department, including provider and administrative computing, electronic medical records, networking, support services, programming services and telecommunications.
  3. The CIO serves as the principal technology leader for ESRH, providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology strategies and initiatives system-wide.
  4. The position scope is inclusive of all ESRH locations. This necessitates a high level of familiarity with the various team members, and a commitment to meeting the diverse information and communication needs that exist across all ESRH departments.
  5. The CIO is responsible for anticipating and maintaining a vision for the future technology needs at ESRH, and for recommending strategies, priorities, and projects that will best achieve the strategic goals and objectives of ESRH.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • The minimum educational qualification is a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Management Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or other field of study, with significant relevant IT work experience
  • Masterโ€™s Degree is highly preferred
  • Must have proven supervisory and administrative experience
  • Extensive experience with IT strategic planning, budgeting and personnel management
  • Significant experience in all aspects of information technology
  • Broad technical knowledge and skills, and understanding of current computing, telecommunications and emerging technologies
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with attention to details
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in negotiating with vendors, contractors, and others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers and team members
