The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is partnering with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) to host a national webinar for community health centers on the Special Enrollment Period (SEP) announced by the Biden Administration.
Leaders from the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) will highlight the details of CMS’s consumer-facing education campaign to enroll into coverage. The SEP for states utilizing Healthcare.gov goes from Monday, February 15, through Saturday, May 15. At least 13 states plus the District of Columbia, which operate their own Marketplace platforms, have decided to offer a similar opportunity. CMS/CCIIO will provide participants with critical information and outreach and education resources related to the SEP, and highlight the availability of a new tool for Navigators and CACs to use when trying to resolve complex consumer enrollment issues.
In addition to CMS, this webinar will provide a “boots-on-the-ground” perspective of a health center that is rapidly responding to the charge of enrolling the uninsured into coverage in response to the SEP. Health centers continue to play a critical role in providing outreach and enrollment assistance with respect to health insurance coverage.
