NACHC joins with the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC) in mourning the loss of Dr. Rich Gottfried. Dr. Gottfried was among those slain at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA, and served as a part-time dentist at Squirrel Hill Health Center. 

PACHC issued the following statement:

“It is with great sorrow we share that a member of our community health center family, Dr. Rich Gottfried, was among the victims at Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. Dr. Gottfried was a part-time dentist at Squirrel Hill Health Center, where he worked with his wife, Dr. Peg Durachko. In Judaism, mourners are comforted with these words, Baruch Dayan Ha’emet and these: May his memory be for a blessing.

We are deeply saddened by the senseless acts of violence that continue to plague our nation. With our health center family, we remain dedicated to improving access to healing, health and hope for all.”
