National Health Center Needs Assessment
NACHC compiles, analyzes and summarizes the main themes from real-time input regarding successes, challenges, needs and opportunities within local health center settings and state-wide. Learn more about these summaries in our Voices from the Field section.
The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Primary Health Care (HRSA/BPHC) tasked NACHC with conducting a single, consolidated national needs assessment in partnership with all National Cooperative Agreement (NCA) entities starting in 2017. The results are intended to inform the design and delivery of training and technical assistance (TTA) provided by HRSA/BPHC through NCA organizations. The national health center TTA needs assessment questionnaire was distributed during Fall 2018 to all health centers throughout the country, with 56% of health centers responding. Top line results are displayed in two infographics here:

Voices from the Field
NACHC assesses the needs of health centers and stakeholders on an ongoing basis through multiple modes and methods. In addition to formal methods like quantitative needs assessment tools and qualitative focus groups, NACHC utilizes its’ conferences and convenings throughout the year to engage with health center providers, staff and administrators, Board members and patients as well as federal partners, state/regional Primary Care Associations, Health Center Controlled Networks and national Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) partners.
NACHC compiles, analyzes and summarizes the main themes from real-time input, including the reflections and ideas voiced from those closest to the health center program and most familiar with the successes, challenges, needs and opportunities within local health center settings and state-wide.
