Dr. Alecia Cyprian serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Community Health Systems, a position she has held since 2014. Under her visionary leadership, the organization has expanded its footprint across four parishes in Southeast Louisiana, delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to communities with significant need. Dr. Cyprian is widely recognized for her strategic acumen and her unwavering commitment to healthcare access and organizational excellence.
A dynamic and results-driven executive, Dr. Cyprian, has guided Southeast Community Health Systems through transformative growth, positioning it as a vital resource in Louisiana’s healthcare landscape. Her leadership is marked by a deep understanding of operational strategy, community engagement, and policy advocacy.
Dr. Cyprian’s influence extends beyond her organization. She is a member of the Board of Directors and the immediate past president of both the Louisiana Primary Care Association and the Louisiana Rural Health Association. Nationally, she contributes to the advancement of community health through her roles as an Advisory Committee Member for Petra College, Chair of the Health Center Excellence Training Committee, and member of the Legislative Committee for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). She also serves as faculty for NACHC’s Health Center Board Roles and has mentored emerging leaders as Lead Mentor for NACHC’s CEO Institute and Affinity Group.
Prior to her tenure in healthcare, Dr. Cyprian spent 18 years in higher education, where she held leadership roles including Director, Dean, and Assistant Vice President. Her work focused on enrollment management, student finance, and regulatory compliance, demonstrating her versatility and depth of expertise across sectors.
Dr. Cyprian holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and both a Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans.
