What is the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)?
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), signed into law on August 16, 2022, introduces significant changes across multiple sectors-including health care. A key provision of the law allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical manufacturers for the first time.
These changes will directly impact community health center (CHC) pharmacies and their patients. To remain compliant, CHCs must take specific steps. This webpage provides resources for CHC staff to ensure compliance, including information about the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program (MDPNP) and the Medicare Transaction Facilitator (MTF). Whether you are a pharmacist, Chief Financial Officer, or Operations Manager, these resources will help guide the operations of your CHC and the pharmacies.
