PWFSelf Assessment and Growth

Each year, NACHC conducts a state policy assessment to collect information on key priority issue areas affecting Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The 2021 PCA Assessment provides a comprehensive overview of primary issues affecting health centers and their patients. NACHC received assessment results from 51 out of 52 PCAs, including 49 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. These results are official as of August 2021.

This guide will provide a brief introduction to ES and the different types of ES staff in CHCs. Additionally, it will present information on ES core competencies established in CHCs, including a list of key steps to develop these competencies, best practices, and recommendations, and links to additional resources.

LOWELL COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IN LOWELL, MASSACHUSETTS

A key focus for Lowell Community Health Center and health centers across the nation’s future is health system transformation. To meet this critical moment in our history, Lowell CHC needed to first focus internally and reorient the ways in which staff interact with one another. This included improving the types of interactions and the frequency by which they communicate across departments to foster their truth of inclusivity and health equity.

This document outlines 12 domains, related tasks, and behavioral examples for Core Competencies for the Health Center CEO. These domains and related tasks and examples were identified and vetted through a National Advisory Panel made up of key staff who would have interaction with the CEO position in various settings.
