2024 Learning Collaborative for Look-Alike Health Center Leadership Teams

Date: April 11th – May 30th, 2024
Deadline to Apply: Friday, March 22, 2024

Are you new to the Look-Alike Health Center Program or to operating a Look-Alike Health Center? Does this leave you feeling stressed, isolated, or unsure where to turn for support? Or, are you an existing Look-Alike and need support to help you through current challenges?

If so, then fear not! NACHC invites you to join its Fourth Annual Learning Collaborative for Look-Alike Health Center Leadership Teams! Join this Learning Collaborative to connect with Look-Alike Health Center peers from across the country.

Over the last three years we have made new friends, forged greater alliances, and created a network of sharing best practices in our individual journeys as Look-Alike Health Centers.

This fun, engaging, and free 5-part Look-Alike Health Center Learning Collaborative will provide leadership teams from Look-Alike Health Centers an opportunity to network with other leaders and subject matter experts and exchange tools, resources, and best practices on selected topics.

Audience

This Learning Collaborative is designed for Look-Alike Health Center Leadership Teams: CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CIOs, CSOs, CMOs, Compliance Officers, Development Directors, Human Resource Directors, etc.

As a participant of this Learning Collaborative, you get to pick and choose who from your Look-Alike attends each session based on role and topic area.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Provide a venue to interact, dialogue, and learn from senior leaders of other Look-Alike Health Centers.
  • Describe practical solutions, tools, and strategies utilized by Look-Alike health centers to address the management and financial challenges of running a Look-Alike; and
  • Identify additional areas and issues for which Look-Alikes need further resources and/or training and technical assistance support.
  • Have fun!

Participation Expectations

  • Each Look-Alike Health Center will have at least one staff member attend each of the five (5) learning sessions. (The representative may change based on the workshop date.)
  • Respond to workshop and Learning Collaborative evaluations
  • Engage in the Noddlepod Learning Community

Workshop Schedule

The Learning Collaborative will convene five times between April – May 2024. Please note the specific dates below as workshops do not happen every week. Each workshop will cover a topic relevant to Look-Alikes and provide an opportunity for Look-Alikes to discuss the topic with their peers in breakout discussions. The Learning Collaborative is led by NACHC staff in close partnership with alumni from past Look-Alike Learning Collaboratives.

  • Workshop #1: Look-Alike Program Overview & Leadership Networking Roundtable

April 11, 2024, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET
This first workshop will kick-off the Learning Collaborative with welcome presentations from staff from the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Health Resources & Services Administration. Faculty will bring you up to speed on the state of the national Look-Alike Health Center Program and network and provide a glimpse into what the future may bring for Look-Alikes (i.e. New Access Point funding, etc.)

  • Workshop #2: Financial Monitoring with Key Performance Indicators

April 25, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET
This workshop will highlight differences between 330-funded and Look-Alike Health Center Financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). FORVIS, a public accounting firm that works closely with Health Centers nationwide, will present on the findings of recent research they conducted for NACHC on Look-ALike financial KPIs.

  • Workshop #3: Financially Structuring Your Look-Alike

May 2, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET
This workshop will explore opening new business lines and service revenue options. Hear how one Look-Alike is able to strategically plan, develop, and grow its operations to generate program income, provide access to care, and recruit and retain staff.

  • Workshop #4: Employee Recruitment, Retention, and Well-Being

May 16th, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET
This workshop will highlight how one Look-Alike Health Center dramatically improved its retention rate by conducting staff satisfaction surveys and research, revamping its compensation and benefits structure, and focusing on non-financial incentives. This is a great session for Look-Alike C-Suite leaders to join with their Human Resources Directors/Teams.

  • Workshop #5: Clinical Quality Improvement

May 30th, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET
This workshop will feature speakers from Look-Alikes that received either multiple CHQR badges or uniquely received a CHQR badge that no other Look-Alike received. Speakers will highlight the financial and operational obstacles they faced while pursuing this recognition. Join this Learning Collaborative to engage with your peers on clinical quality measures and recognition.

Deadline to apply is March 22nd, 2024. Applications will be reviewed and invitations to join the Learning Collaborative will be sent during the week of Monday, March 25 – March 29, 2024.

For more information, contact Ted Henson, Director, Health Center Growth and Development, NACHC Staff Project Lead. And Jamie Reich, Specialist, Health Center Growth & Development.
