Fostering Effective Mental Health Services in Community Health Centers

Fostering Effective Mental Health Services in Community Health Centers

Date: April 30th and May 22nd, 2024 at 3:00 PM ET

Overview

From the National Institute of Mental Health, it is estimated that more than one in five adults live with a mental illness (57.8 million in 2021). Health centers screen for mental health conditions and substance use disorders such as alcohol use, tobacco use, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress, human trafficking, intimate partner violence, and other mental or substance-related disorders. The growing mental health needs of seniors, adults and children will require health centers to consider additional ways to offer intensive mental health services, to help position Community Health Centers as providers and partners of choice when integrating and expanding mental health services.

Learning Objectives

This webinar series will illustrate pathways to advance effective integration of mental health in community health centers. Panelists will provide an overview of:

  • How integration is established for their organization
  • Discuss strategies for care coordination and
  • Opportunities for partnerships to overcome workforce challenges.
