BETHESDA, MD—A bipartisan Senate working group released a discussion draft of legislation to reform the 340B program. The following statement can be attributed to Dr. Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, President and CEO of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC):
NACHC applauds the bipartisan leadership demonstrated by the senators’ working group in crafting solutions that protect and preserve the federal 340B program and assure access to affordable medications to the over 31.5 million patients we serve nationwide. The program allows Community Health Centers to purchase medicines at low costs. Savings are invested for care for underserved and vulnerable communities. We appreciate the opportunity to provide input and look forward to working collaboratively with stakeholders to produce a sustainable long-term solution.
