Workforce Wellness Toolkit
The Workforce Wellness Toolkit for Health Centers is designed to support health center leaders who are building comprehensive plans to enhance workforce health and wellbeing.
The toolkit offers sample workflow changes, emails, meeting agendas, and brief individual and team exercises that health centers can download, customize, and integrate into day-to-day clinic life.
Overview
Community health center staff are experiencing ever-growing trauma and toxic stress caused by intense demands for services, changes to the delivery of care, staffing shortages, and resource shortfalls. Focusing on workforce wellness has become fundamental to sustaining community health centers and the high-quality collaborative care they deliver.
Drawing on principles of trauma-informed care, this toolkit provides an overview of the neurobiology of toxic stress and offers specific clinical practices that support workers to better regulate their nervous systems and resist the real threats of moral injury and burnout.
Our hope is that these tools enhance the workforce wellness initiatives already in place. The materials are designed to support leadership, human resources, front line workers, and care teams.
